Growth Factor

The article published in the rediff, establishes the overlooked achievements of the Gujarat government. The article based on RBI's statistics, however most of the opposition still plays around the so called 'secularism' to hinder the growth. The best of these I can see is the ideas of evening courts, 'Kanya Kelavani Yojana'.Moreover, it had turned most of the state-owned units to be profitable.
The government also moved from revenue surplus to revenue deficit. Other states also should take this as example to make their respective states to be more revenue surplus.
This article by me is just written with respective to education, development of rural and urban, growth and revenue surplus.

Political sport

The article simply signalizes the powerplay of politics against the game(spirit) of cricket. Is that possible to educate the cliques who die for cricket in India?.

Who is there to question this board which is probably one of the highest earnings body in the country?.

Only in India, the cricket association has the word "control" in their name.

Ugly scenes with Politicians

The intervening of Government with the administration of AIIMS, the most acclaimed medical college in India has already showcased the ego clashes of power. Now, after that our health minister is ready for a fist with the medical students increasing the stay at college by a year. The reason provided is 'village service'. Instead of doing all these goof-off, why not put proper check-points for the government doctors who already in the services. If they do turn up promptly for their duty at government hospitals it might be a proper solution.

Environmental management

This title in the course of study really enthralled me as I was well-known as eco-friendly person among my friend's circle. At the classroom, most of us unaware of pedagogics, waiting for the professor to appear. When Prof.Balooni started the class we can agnize his passion about the subject and once the class got over, he has imparted the same desire and passion to the students. The course talks about how countries in the world, faces and addresses their water needs and other environmental factors.

Will update my blog with various tips to preserve and safeguard our environment to have a great and joyous future.

Perennial wait

My desire of buying a D-SLR is being a long perennial wait and it fulfilled when I placed the order for Canon 350D recently. However, my wait upholds till I get the same in hand next month.

An environment to study

Recently I had been to Indian Institute of Management, Calicut for my eMEP in-campus programme. I was astonished with the environment of the campus. In the hills, amidst of trees it is really a lovely place to enchant and boost you. Believe me you would not get any external disturbance to hinder you from your studies. The kerala state went on bandh during our programme, but I say it did not affect our programme except that we were in the campus before 6 am. ;-)

Retail - Conflict

Recently there were lot of protests for the retailers like Reliance Fresh and Subhiksha from the so called traders who enjoyed the unawareness of the people. I have never seen any trader or vegetable vendor providing bill for any sale they do. Only people who forces them to issue the bill will get it. These people now being threatened by the new retailers of their business, staging a protest. A sick behaviour happen only in India. Whether the endpoint sales is by small traders or retailers, the farmers will get the same share.

Only the small traders and middle men who enjoyed the luxury of non-questioning will be suffering. Hence the protest.

The government should form a governing body in crafting the guidelines, monitoring the retailers which would help the farmers.

The hidden burden with the small traders and middle man as they don't pay much of sales tax, the salaried individual was burdened.

The protest which I would call strongly as idiotic should be stopped.

Mobile as FMCG

The recent hike in the local and STD rates by Airtel and Hutch reflects how much they control the communication industry. The reason given by them seems very unrealistic to TRAI. Nowadays, the mobile has become a necessity rather a luxury item. This is the scenario the service providers are waiting for. This showcases how much they enjoy the capitalism. The government would have definitely perturbed by this news should take appropriate step to control these kind of irrelevant increase in hikes.

Carriage fee

The article regarding the carriage fee being proposed by the cable operators for the channels to be aired shows clearly the lack of any regulations in place. Say an example, if the channels will pay the cable operators, they will forsake the pay channels for which they pay heavy. If this is the practice going to happen, then government should intervene and make a regulation for the subscription fee paid by the viewers ( We are paying close to Rs.250 p.m. - bangalore).

Will this going to benefit only the cable operators or will benefit the people also?.

Bouncer

Most of us would have donated to the Prime Minister's Relief fund during various natural calamities and would love to donate more to help our Indian brothers and sisters who suffered from those casualties. However, the news regarding the bounce of the cheque thrown me into shock. Probably this would be the least thing everyone could think of happening from the Government of India.

Height of stupidity

Craziness towards the record and statistics has increased very steeply among the Indians recently, I believe. Already being sicken up by statistics that very newspaper/magazine published during the recently concluded WC cricket, the latest article came as a shock.

However, a 15-year old performing a caesarean seems really as the height of stupidity. I can sense how this character of ostentatious drives the person crazy. He may possess the skills however playing with someone's life was really unacceptable. Let's wait and see how the government takes up this issue.

Trip to kodaikanal

My recent trip to Kodaikanal was one of the wonderful trip I had. The Indian railways kept up to their expectation by reaching the Kodai road some 35-40 minutes late. We got the 8-o' clock bus and believe me it took more than 3.5 hours to reach KK. The condition of the bus was so bad too pull with so many people(around 55). All our foul morale fled away as the weather was so pleasant. We started our expedition with the visit to Bryant Park. I was elated as the rain was just stopped and I got great feed for my camera.

Then we had been to the walk around lake followed by a visit to Coaker's walk.

The second day went fast and we packed up for our return journey to Bangalore.

Depth of Field (DOF)

Though developed the hobby of photography quite sometime back, I developed more interest towards Depth of Field (DOF) photos very recently. My recent visit to Kodaikanal ignited my desire and took quite good number of DOFs. With this photo I feel I achieved it quite very well.

Prisoner's dilemma and the Indianness

I am reading the book "Games Indian Play" by V. Raghunathan for which NRN had given the foreword. The book talks about the behavioural nature of the Indian using the Game theory and behavioural science. As per the author, Indians are intelligent, rational as an Individual; however as a group we fail to advance. He explains this behaviour with the analogy of the Prisoner's dilemma which was nice to read. The author never had any hesitate to call a spade a spade. He has written his view forthrightly. Probably I may write a review here once I finish the book.

Adventurous Saturday

Last Saturday went for the Parasailing conducted by CARE adventures at Hoskote. The place was quite distant from the city and it took some 20 minutes of travel from KR Puram. We(myself and my wife) reached there by 11 am and only we were there to take up the sport. Though the altitude was less (around 200 mts), it was really great to be in the sky and to have a bird's view of the place. Great thing to do in a weekend.

Stupid survey

If you people are watching any of the Sun network's tamil channels, for the past two days they are air-ing an advt for their newspaper. They are conducting some daily survey through famed group A C Nielson. Most of the survey were idiotic and the latest one was really crazy.

One of the two survey is "Ippothaiya ulagil ethu romba avasiyam" meaning "what is more important in the current world". romba theliva irukkaanga. ithukku bathil ennatha solla. ".Dei naye.. enda enna parthu intha kelvi kekra.. " illa panchatantram kamal madiri.. "kelvi kekarathu romba sulabam.. bathil sollirathuthan kastam".. -nu solratha.. ora kustamappa.

The other question.. "which is the most widely liked sweet that people eat". evanga enna veetula poi sweet panna poraangala.

Making people blunt. please god save us from this world of such idiotic people. Not sure why A C Nielson agreed for these kind of surveys.

My First HDR

After a great encouraging words from my friend Subash, I created my first HDR image with the image I clicked on the way to Glenmorgan in Ooty.

Home theatre

I purchased the Sony Home theatre 7 months back and experienced the full power of it when I watched the movie Lord of the Rings (original DVD track). It was really a horripilating experience with the audio effects of the theatre. I love it.
A great way to spend the weekends.

DTH

Sun network's non-compliance of TDSAT's decision to share its feed to Tata Sky has not been highlighted in any of the news channel. Since Sun is coming with its own DTH, delayed by some infrastructure problems, is it not ready to share its feed. Why the Central Government or TRAI is not taking any immediate remedy steps to correct this. The other player DishTV which abide by the judgement and shared its feed to Tata sky.

Is any political reason behind for this behavior?. Probably Sun wants to share its feed only when its DTH is ready and because of which did it get a stay from Chennai high court. This will provide them ample time to set their infrastructure in place?.

All dirty politics and the politicians are cultivating for their family business.

Sparkling spark

The unveiling of GM's Spark was really gratifying news for me as I had been waiting for its release quite a long time (April 2004). After some good reviews about the car, I believe it will be a healthy competitor for the middle class's evergreen auto company Maruti.

Dull final

The much expected finals of the Cricket world cup turned out to be a dull event. After initial rain, the match was reduced to 38 overs. Adding to this, the match was reduced to 36 overs during the Srilankan innings which made the match not worth watching.

Probably they would have waited for the reserve day to play a full fledged match of 50 overs. A very disappointing final.

Mediocre media

Nowadays the news channels in Television have become one of the most important media. The success of the news channel earlier was depend upon the quality of the news they broadcast. However, the recent trends are really absurd. The media are running behind the film personalities to increase their TRP ratings. Believe by this time you would have guessed the topic I am talking about. It’s all about the Aish-Abhishek wedding.

Even after a message from AB saying the ceremony was a family function, the behaviour of media persons was shameless. Why they are giving importance to these kinds of incidents. It was really bad to see someone like Pranoy Roy, Sardesai to sit in the studio and talk about this marriage.

It won't be a surprise even this marriage would be listed in the most important event of this year?

Mediocre media. finally these people also running behind.. TRP

A mirthful Notice

Yesterday I have been to Forum, a famous mall in our city of Bangalore. I happened to see a notice in the food court "Transit", which reads as.. "Outside eatables will be prosecuted".

Imagine a scene like a masala dosa being served a legal notice. ;-)

The legality of the notice is a different issue.

Congrats VA

In the midst of cricket fever, there is a great achievement by an Indian in the world of sports. Viswanathan Anand emerged as the World Number one in the Chess.

Congratulations to Viswanathan Anand who came from the land where the game of chess emerged.

Push & Pull

PUSH & PULL these are the words you can see nowadays in almost all places. Of course, I am talking about the glass doors in most of the places.

In our office, the pantry door has to be pushed while entering and to be pulled while coming out. On most of the occasion, I often see people push the door while going out.

I will get angry when people don't go by it.

After a long and deep thought something came cogent to my mind. People usually carry coffee cups and snacks in their hands while going out and they tend to envisage of opening the door by Push.

I would like to see the interior consultants to think plausibly and design in future.

One Number

One of the articles in rediff caught my attention. The article was about a US based company - GrandCentral who are in the beta testing phase of its simple but nice to have service of integrating all your contact numbers to a single number.

Not sure how this service is going to hit in the market since I smell some kind of privacy loss. I feel instead of distributing your new number from this provider to everyone, just integrate existing phone numbers with this service. Once you get a call to any of your numbers and you aren't there to pick up, it should get diverted to this number. The recipient can then be notified about the voice message which can be accessed from anywhere.

Let us wait how this service will evolve when it hits the market.

Indian Cricket

The recent interview of Dravid, where he backed Sehwag after latter's repeated failure saying he was backing only a person who proved worthy and match winner and also scored some 6000 runs in the ODI. My question is why did not he support Ganguly or Zaheer when the same happened to them some year back. Aren't they proved to be match winner.

Sigh, all dirty politics in Indian Cricket.

!Sportsmanship

Recently, the most respectful cricketer, the keeper batsman of Australia quoted the whitewash lost series of Newzealand as 'not needed'. This is highly idiotic and also against the spirit of Cricket from the player with good sportsmanship. Would he told the same if Australia had won the series.

Feb 19, 2007

What we call as Team spirit

I wanted to post this blog quite sometime back, however the habit of relaxing stymied me from it. This blog was about the tri-series held in Australia. After beating the Australia in the league matches, England without their good players like Vaughan, Pieterson, Hoggard, Harmison won the finals of the tri-series.
The same England team was treated like a minnow by the same Australian team during the Ashes and also during the tri-series. Really you need to have a great killer instinct to bounce back like this.
Wondering whether our star-studded Indian team has the capability of this kind?. Great team work and attitude from the England team.

Hampi Trip

The execution of the plan which was proposed nearly 2 years ago got materialized last weekend. We booked for the Hampi tour package conducted by KSTDC and the trip started around 8:30 pm on Friday. We reached Mantralayam on Saturday morning. We visited the temple there and the rest of the day went on joruney. We reached Kamalapur around 5 in the evening. We went to view the sunset however we weren't lucky enough to catch great sunset.

The next day visit to Hampi temples started around 9 am. The guide took us to the more significant places and of course, one day is not sufficient for Hampi. Then the trip ends with a visit to TungaBhadra dam.

Here I have a suggestion for KSTDC, maybe they can drop the Mantralayam from the Hampi tour package so that people can spend more time at Hampi.

Hampi photos are in picasaweb.google.com/krishnamani.

A day of disappointment

I had been to the Aero show 2007 on Thursday and it was not the memorable day for me. There were no details about the show timings and hence we ended up there nearly 1:30 hours late for 2 pm show. On reaching, we got the info about the IJT's tyre burst. However the pilot was safe.
This resulted in delay and hence no aerobic display of F-18 or F-16 or MiG-35. I went for the show solely for these fighters maneuver. I was really disappointed.

However, there was a consolation with the display of Gripen and Sukhoi-30. GRIPEN a LCA from Sweden was the cynosure of the day with its great maneuvering capabilities and controlling. Very good aerobic display from the pilot.

A very disappointing day for me with no F-18 or F-16 or MiG-25 on the skies. (really an unlucky day).

Another step towards energy conservation

The article in Hindu, talks about the step taken by the KSRTC to move towards the Enerdiesel which will help in energy conservation. In addition, it will help in pollution control which is more cause of worry nowadays. Let us welcome the move by KSRTC and believe BMTC and all other government transports follow the same.

This actually remembers me aboutRamarPillai from down south Tamilnadu. Is this the time to reconsider his plea on biochemical petrol and do the feasibility study about its impact on pollution, engine performance and who knows it may help us to conserve more energy.

Prevention better than Cure

Respected BMP - Bangalore Mahanagara Palike, believe you have heard of the above proverb.

This is regarding the attack of stray dogs on two small girls(one girl died and the other was injured) in a span of a week. Please take an effective step to eradicate the violent, dangerous stray dogs. Definitely there are people to oppose you to move against the stray dogs. In that case, let them feed and take care of the dogs in their premises. Atleast it won't take life of small girls. Definitely the very same people will ask you to take steps if small girls from their familiy suffer the same.
